....and we begin, again

So it seems like I'm always starting these blogs with grand ideas of actually being consistent with them. This time I'm hoping that I actual will be.
The idea behind this one is that I will be able to share happy moments, learning moments, ideas, thoughts, failures, and all those little things that seem to make life rich and frustrating.

About a month ago I emailed a short list of family and friends and asked them to send me the titles of books that have had the biggest impact or most profound effect on their lives. I've compiled the list from the people who responded and will be working my way through the list slowly, but surely over the next year. I'll be blogging about what kind of impact the book had on me, and will hopefully inspire others to read some inspiring works they wouldn't otherwise have thought to read.

I'll also be going social media silent for the next 2 months. No Facebook. No Instagram. I don't really need it, and I think that to some extent it does more harm than good. I'll see how I feel about coming back at the end of those 2 months or if I just want to get rid of my accounts at the end of it. For me it has become a lazy crutch for keeping in touch with people that I should really be making more of an effort to be contacting either via email, skype, or good old fashioned snail mail.

Two months is also how long it takes to get through the Insanity Challenge which I have never technically made it all the way through. So, that is another thing that will be happening instead of wasting time on the computer, I'll be getting myself back in shape. Pray for me, y'all, I'm gonna need it!

  2. I love this and keep telling myself this is exactly what I should do. Then laziness kicks in and friends share photos... and I fail to resist. I might follow suit if I am strong enough ;) Happy real life! BTW if you send me an address, I would love to put you on my 'to write a letter' list! x
